I don't know who this impacts, if anyone, but I'll be curious if this changes the direction of Gretsch, Gibraltar, or Toca. Probably not anything soon, but ...

Interesting.

Anyone know if the Kaman family was still involved before this sale?
I have a vauge memory of Kaman being sold some years ago.
I think maybe the family had already been out, but I can't remember for sure.

[I always thought highly of Ovation guitars.]

Wow ... didn't see that coming. This will affect Sabian and LP as well. I'm sure it will be a positive move; Fender isn't a slouch company by any means.

It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out over the next year.

I recently heard that Latin Percussion is being all but phased out with KAMAN ... now Fender. Kaman Music Corp has been the distributor for LP Music Group.

It appears that Meinl is really stepping up to the plate ... not only with the strong latin percussion line, but their cymbals as well.

I remember reading on other forum about Kaman being an artillery/military equipment merchant and how those guys at that forum were proud they bought their LPs before the Kaman/LP agreement and the all antiwar thing. I mean, I'm antiwar - anti any war - but subsidiary corporations have little (if any) to do with what its matrix corporation or sibling subsidiaries do. To LP or Toca, Kaman Music Corporation is just a chair at their board of directives; same goes for Kaman Corp at KMC at.

I hope that with Fender now on charge things change for better. I've heard many people complaintning recently about quality issues with LP, Gretsch (imported) and some other Kaman brands.
