Hello everyone,
Does anyone know of any bands that play aggressive double bass metal type of music, Such as Necrophagist, Meshuggah, Slayer, ArchEnemy, only without the intensely negative type of lyrics?  Christian lyrics are o.k. with me. 

I love the music and the type of drums, but can't stand the lyrics and the vibe they give off.  Please understand that I am not preaching or knocking those that do listen to that type of music....

I'm in band with a bass player who is a complete christian metalhead.

I don't know about Christian Death Metal but you said heavy and Creeds X Vocalist
Jeremy Camp is doing some great Heavy Christian Rock and Even Third Day can get heavy at times. Christian Rock can have a bit of everything in it from Jazz to Country to Rock to even Heavy Metal. I like it because it can be so versatile.

Actually the root of good music is ... good music ... regardless of style or genre. 

And the fertilizer to make good music grow is musicians who have spent a lot of time listening to good music.

There used to be a local Christian radio station in town that played Christian hard rock early in the evening and full-on Christian metal overnight.  To someone (such as myself) who never boasted a big interest in listening to CCM, it was a novelty for me (and perhaps a few other friends staying up late on the weekends) to tune in for a bit and listen to the music of this large-yet-still-out-of-the-mainstream culture while hanging out.  Amy Grant and Rich Mullins it wasn't; we were caught somewhere between admiration and amusement at hearing such a thing.

There remains a growing (I think) Christian metal scene in town, it being Oklahoma and all.

Though I am a bit behind (thanks for the list), I was speaking in the past tense; that is, the late nineties or so when I tuned in.

Well, 'rock' or 'rock'n'roll' (cp. a thread called 'Rock and roll' that I posted a few months ago) is a synonym of 'good music' in my dictionary...
And yes, music must always be good, otherwise we could just call it noise. Style and genre may be just something that people talk about when trying to analyze or categorize art.
BTW, don't you remember who said 'drumming is the heartbeat of universe'? I vaguely remember seeing this printed on an LP cover in the seventies, or it was said before one of the songs of an LP, and now I wonder where I saw or heard it...



I like this expression, and it's not at all long for me. (Just think of e.g. 'sunny-side-up', which is much longer than 'doom', but more colourful and very expressive. ) Now you taught me what doom is.
The other day I looked up heavy metal in Wikipedia and other encyclopedias, and the result was disasterous. They list dozens of sub- and subclasses, starting somewhere like Sabbath, or even Purple and Zep, and somebody even mentions Jethro Tull... Crazy, isn't it.
