Great Quotes

"I started practicing playing uncomplicated things and solid time. To play as simply and as unnoticed as I could, became as challenging as playing at a high energy level. They're still both equally challenging to me."

This summer, students will have a unique chance to learn the contemporary approach and performing techniques of Pearl Percussion Artists Jose Rosa and Hector "Pocho" Neciosup at the Contemporary Drums and Percussion Summer Camp being held June 5-7, 2008 at the University of Central Florida.

Drummers will also have the opportunity to study with other special Pearl Percussion artist guests, including Grammy Award Winner Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Glen Caruba and Dimas Sanchez

Designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels, the Camp will offer daily sessions, small group lessons and Individual instruction opportunities, as well as master class lessons.

Camp organizer and one of Contemporary Latin Music Educators founders Jose Rosa explains, "This is the first time a camp with this level of instruction is available in the Southeast.  We're very excited to welcome such great artists to the Camp and look forward to sharing their experience and ours with the students."

Students will learn a History of Drums, and Latin Percussion Instruments, as well as contemporary techniques on drums, congas, timbales, bongos, multi-percussion, bata drums and other percussion instruments.

Hector "Pocho" Neciosup, the other founder of Contemporary Latin Music Educators, added, "It's an honor to partner with UCF and Pearl Percussion to bring such a diverse and talented group of instructors to the Camp."

Contemporary Latin Music Educators was founded by Jose Rosa and Hector "Pocho" Neciosup. Jose and Hector are authors, educators and professional performers who together offer students more than thirty years of experience teaching and performing with major artists worldwide.

Space for the Camp is limited and students can secure their registration by visiting: www.contemporarypercussion.com or calling 786-539-6269.
