The Roland TD3 Drum Module does not sample, nor does it allow you to import or load your own sounds. You can only use the 114 sounds that come with the unit. You can, however, manipulate the sounds of the 32 kits with one of the 15 built-in ambient effects.

If you want to sample/record or load your own sounds, you'll have to invest into a different unit.

I'd suggest visiting the Roland website to learn more about the TD3.

If you are mainly using the pads in your kit at home you could always use your PC as a sampler. If you want to use it live, you can invest in a small sampler like Roland/Boss' Dr. Sample. You will connect the sampler/PC to your monitors to hear the sounds, and a MIDI cable between your TD3 and sampler/PC.

To built on that; there are quite some good priced laptops available these days that are perfectly able to do this things in a live situation. The Asus EEE would be a good example!
