The Drummer Cafe rocks!

« on: February 21, 2008, 01:22 PM »

Like many people, I absolutely love Don Henley's drumming and the sound of his kit.  Does anyone have a complete or partial list of what he used back in the seventies?

Also, I realize many of you hate this type of drum sound.  If you fall into that category, no need to reply to this post!  Henley lovers only! Wink

I don't hate his sound; in fact, it does really serve the overall sonic picture of the songs.  Would I personally gravitate toward his sound?  Probably not.  LOVE his drumming.

I believe he is/was 100% Paiste.  Always saw him with Ludwig in the 70's, and a set of Tama Superstars for The Long Run.  In '94 he played DW on tour with a Ludwig 402 snare, at least when I saw him.  I think he would sound like himself on Kenny Aronoff's kit!
