Thanks to Bo, we all suffer the pain of mastering the Rosanna shuffle...that sweet concoction of Bo Diddly, John Bonham and Jeff Porcaro!  Rest in peace, gents.

Oh Man! -  Cry

From CNN - Guitarist George Thorogood, a Diddley disciple (talking about that BD 'sound') :

"[Chuck Berry's] 'Maybellene' is a country song sped up," Thorogood told Rolling Stone in 2005. " 'Johnny B. Goode' is blues sped up. But you listen to 'Bo Diddley,' and you say, 'What in the Jesus is that?' "

R.I.P. Bo ...

I had the pleasure of seeing him play twice over the years. One of the worlds best musicians. Seen that on the news this morning.  Sad

RIP to the father of the Shave and a Haircut.

I hope he isn't reduced to only a shave and a haircut, anyway didn't that saying come way before him. He was the father of a very funky groove!!
I saw him at the Chicago blues fest in the 80's...I will look for the picture tonight of him that I took and post it. He was playing a rectangle shaped guitar and was not happy with how the drummer was playing. He took off his guitar and kicked the drummer off and starting playing the groove he wanted. Probably a bit embarrassing for the drummer and maybe not professional for Bo....but I think others have done worse.

Not many other guitar players have a drum groove named after them.  Such a big slice of our musical pie, he'll be missed.
