Hello friends
I'm trying to estimate the price of 'skin on skin' 11 and 13 inch cherry wood congas
made by Jay Bareck 18 years old hardly left their cases .
If you have any idea of their value I will appreciate your comment.
Thanks
Peace

I'd say $400 to $600, depending. If the hardware is chrome, does it have problems? A lot of older drums have pitted or flaking chrome and often the seller will say something like 'needs to be polished up'.... Not true, polishing just takes more chrome off, what it needs is to be re-chromed, an expensive proposition. Even drums that have sat in cases can have chrome problem due to moisture.
I haven't heard of Jay's drums being prone to chrome problems, but they might being 18 years old. Some of Jay's drums have black hardware, a kind of powder coat, and these would be easier to repaint to get looking new.
I'd also check if the drums are staying in the round. If not, they still might sound really good, but you couls use it as a point to get the price down.
