I think that if you are new to drumming, only want something to practice on, and plan to purchase an acoustic drumkit later on ... I would say that any electronic drumkit, as long as it works, would be just fine.

You'll be hard pressed to find anything really good for that kind of money; you would need to spend more.

My suggestion would be to find something, then check back with the Drummer Cafe and get some opinions on the kit you are looking at. To suggest brand names alone only really won't help you, and I have no idea what's on the market right now as far as used gear.

You need to pose your question to the entire community if you want a response from them. I can't give you any further help that what I've done ... sorry.
