Hey everyone, long time no see here at the Cafe. I've been ridiculously busy and, you know, the internet is sometimes the first to go when it comes to life priroities, right?

Anyway, the band I am in occasionally changes from original material to do a Beatles cover show, and the audience response is usually tremendously rewarding. 40 years later, people still love the Beatles. Even if they weren't even born when they were still together (like me).

Thanks, it IS a blast. It's kind of like a dream come true for me. People really go nuts. We had 400 heads at that last show, and it was a small bar. I couldn't believe the lasting drawing power of the Beatles, but I guess I shouldn't underestimate them.

Since you asked, here are the other 2 I have up right now. The Sgt. Pepper/With A Little Help features me (Ringo style) on vocals. For the first time. Ever. I'm critical but I think it was passable.

Chip, you are a lucky man. I would have loved to see the Beatles live. Somehow I think seeing the All Starr band would pale in comparison.

I have always thought of Ringo as more of a musician than a drummer. The urge to play 8th notes on the hats with a backbeat is sometimes too strong to resist, but he played thoughtful, musical, and--most importantly--memorable drum parts most drummer's drummers would never dream of. This has been discussed ad nauseum here so I'll stop, and post another video. This time it's Dig A Pony from Let it Be (we do the later stuff mostly) and a pretty funny off-the-cuff band intro. Hope you guys enjoy! It's a blast for me. If anyone near Gainesville FL wants to come see us again April 26, there's a free beer in it for any Cafe member!
