Help me blow my tax refund
«

So I've decided to spend my tax refund on my drums. I'm buying new heads for them, top and bottom. I have a Mapex Pro M and I'm pretty sure right now that I want to use the Aquarian Studio X heads. As for as bottom heads I'm still not sure and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for resso heads that sound good with the studios. Also I'll have enough left over to buy a new 8x8 tom for my set and was wondering if you guys thought the studio x would sound good on that. I know sometimes with smaller toms muffling could be a bad thing and I'm not sure if the ring on the head will be to much or not. Thanks guys!

I put Studio X heads on the batter side of all my Tama toms about three months ago and they really sound great. I was thinking about putting the same on my resso side, but I'd like to do just one and hear what I have at that point. If it sounds good, I'll do the others. In the mean time I still have the Tama stock heads on. I did the same thing with the snare, but as yet I haven't gone after my BD. I'm going to try something similar with the BD, but I'm thinking about trying one of the new Evans heads to muffle it. I'd like to leave the Tama stock head on the resso side for the logo. I'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks, I'm talking to my wife about the tax refund.
