After you learn this one you can try your hand at some Ramone's tunes. Grin

Boomka- that completely worked!  Such a simple change mentally but I could easily get my brain around it ( and my hands, Whoo Hooo!).  Thanks!

O.K. today the USSR song felt slow so something is going right.  Now for something completely different....
Do you guys learn to play (lead) songs and techniques equally with both hands and both feet?  I usually play open handed and with the right foot but love to learn all the songs cross handed and with the left foot and all combinations in between.  I may be bored waiting for the guitarist to change strings and came up with this game.
Gotta go, the guitarist just finished changing those strings.

No, I don't bother to learn cross handed... what's da point?  That's kinda like learning to say your ABC's backwards...  Grin

No Jen, because there's always too many other things to be working on. How's your rudiments? Your snare drum reading? Maybe consider having a etude book and rubber pad with you in those situations where you might having some chunks of your time wasted. No need to ever be bored. :-)

Now that is the problem.  Without a teacher I know I am stumbling around a lot.  I have played piano and flute for years so there is no problem with reading the music but the fundamental techniques and physical use of the kit can be difficult to learn from a book or video.
I do bug every drummer I meet and am still looking for a teacher.  Until then I just keep going on my own and come to DC for most of my questions and reading.
Needless to say it is really going well and I am surprised at how quickly songs can be learned (to a certain degree) not to mention how much fun I am having.
I do appreciate all of the help I am given here.

When you find a great teacher, could you box 'em up for me and mail them to me? Thanks Shocked
