Angry Don't buy from HB.  I thought HB drums was a reputable business, but alas I was wrong.  I received a snare drum from them and the throw-off is shot.  Oh know, what to do.  Obviously the quick, simplistic, appropriate answer is to simply send me another one but they won't return my calls or emails.  If this post saves one person from aggravation and heartache then my job is done.

I thought what harm could it do ordering a snare online but I won't make that mistake again.  See when the price is real low, beware...seriously beware.  Well let me call the excellent customer service at Musician Friend for a throw-off or maybe I'll call the manufacturer of my next drum set.  Mapex.

Sorry to hear about the problem with the drums. That's exactly why I've never bought any gear over the net. I've got to see it and hear it first hand or I don't want it. That may be my own opinion, but you just confirmed my thoughts on the subject. I hope they fix it for you.

I never heard of HB, but I just visited the website.  Hard to tell from just the pictures what quality level we're talking about, but no doubt, there are some attractive prices.  They kind of remind me of the Rondo Music of drums.  It's very disappointing that you're not getting service.  How many times did you try to reach them?  You used both e-mail and the phone?

I just e-mailed them to see if they will respond.

You might have done this already - at the bottom of HB Drums' web page there's a "Returns" link - it explains exactly what to do if you receive damaged drums.

But in his original post, he mentions no response to e-mail or phone calls.

I wrote to them with a question on Saturday.  I'll post if they answer me.

I think I could have told you to stay away from these drums before you made the purchase. You get what you pay for in most cases; sometimes more, sometimes less.

You have to keep in mind that many instruments that are very inexpensive, as compared to high-end instruments, typically are that way because of the workmanship, or the lack thereof.
This doesn't excuse poor customer service, but if all their instruments are like this, they'd be taking complaints all day long ... which is probably why they aren't responding.  Undecided

One other note, I don't think you need to troll every drum forum on the Internet, posting this type of thread, which is what I've seen from you on other sites. You registered here then posted this thread, all in the span of three minutes ... which just doesn't look good.

I noticed this also on another forum.  Bart's right, it doesn't look good.
