 | | I'm playing drums/percussion for ambient/world recording artist Mary-Kathryn. We just finished working with Tom Jackson and shooting a two song music video (high-definition). For the month of April we will be showcasing during the GMA week here in Nashville, TN. Future performances and concert tours are TBA.
Here's a photo of my current drum/perc set-up that I use live with Mary-Kathryn.
|
 | | In rehearsals with Karen Johns & Company, a straight-ahead jazz group. We'll be playing locally here in Nashville as well as various special events and jazz festivals around the country. They will be recording a new album in late June, which I am scheduled to play drums on.
Karen Johns voice is along the lines of Nancy Wilson / Julie London. We'll be performing original material as well as new arrangements of several jazz standards. |

Stik Yard is a drum/percussion theatrical group (ala Stomp/Blue Man Group) that I've been helping my friend Mark Miller put together. I'll be performing with 8-10 other percussionists (Stik Yard), as we perform an opening number with Delirious. Big event and production ... should be a lot of fun.

Not too many gigs this month; just a few pick-up gigs here and there. Also playing two short acoustic shows with Mary-Kathryn at Borders in Franklin, TN (last night) and Clarksville, TN next week (December 15 th). Back out at F. Scott's Jazz Bar in Nashville with singer Terri Brinegar Wednesday, December 12 th from 7-10pm. Same band line-up as before: Greg Foresman (Martina McBride) on guitar, Kevin Adams (Lee Ann Womack) on piano, Mark Fain (Bruce Hornsby/Ricky Skaggs) on bass, and yours truly, Bart Elliott ( nobody) on drums. Since the 12 th is the Drummer Cafe's six year anniversary, I'll have to dedicate a song to you all, maybe even sing. The only thing that comes to mind right now is that jazz/blues standard "Your Mind Is On Vacation (And Your Mouth Is Working Over Time)" ... perhaps I'll have to dedicate that one to myself as well. I'm very busy with the Drummer Cafe this month, migrating everything to a new screaming dedicated server. The slow month, gig wise, is going to allow me to focus on my own music as well as develop some new music projects I've been patiently waiting to get started on.
