Ok, Since I'm back on this wonderful forum, maybe ya'll can help me. I have a DW9000 bass drum pedal, and I cant get it to tighten up on the bass drum hoop just with my fingers. I keep having to use a pair of pliers to tighten up the "T" screw enough where it dosen't slip off of my hoop while im playing. The problem is that I keep breaking off the bolt that holds the actual clamp on the pedal. I tried adjusting the nut that screws onto the the top of the bolt, but I still cant get enough tension. The nut also has a spot for like a little allen screw in it to keep it snug on the bolt, but on both my pedals it wasn't included when I purchased it. Would that help if i had that??? Anyone else have the same problems? HELP!!!!

I have the allen screw intact, and no problem with the clamp. When you adjust the nut, is it possible to find position where the clamp works right? Probably first you need to unscrew the T-bolt out completely and then adjust the nut.

I ALWAYS put a piece of cloth between the pedal clamp and the hoop, I personally use a folded bandana. That way, the hoop is a little bit bigger to grab a hold of and you're not damaging your hoop at all by clamping down so hard.  Give it a try and let me know how it works.

Since I have 4 sets I found that the 9000 doesn't always fit the different hoops. So I found a small piece of solid rubber to clamp my pedal to. I can just use the rubber or can fold it in half to make it twice as thick. Works great and doesn't damage the hoop.  Wink
