Great Quotes

"Usually, I'm concentrating on the quarter notes. That's where my focus has to be to keep the tempo locked. Whatever subdivisions I play in those spaces, I make sure they're locked in with the quarter note so that I don't rush them ... I just try to be part of the foundation."

I've been pondering a switch to clear tom heads. I think the clear heads would be a bit more resonant and possibly have a bit more low end.

Thoughts?

I think they might be brighter.

The same head in coated should have more warm tones than in clear.
Many clear heads are thicker though, which tends to emphasise the low end.
