I love the Drummer Cafe!

I'm not real experienced with various snare wires. It's usually just a direct, factory or generic, replacement thing. I did buy a set of generic 42 strand for my blacrolite a year ago or so. It sounded good on low volume gigs but so-so for moderate to loud backbeats. Well, I started using it for band practice again after adding an S-Hoop batter side. Love the cross-stick sound but the backbeat seems lackluster to me. Should I go back to the stock 20 strand or even switch to a 16 strand for a stronger, snappier backbeat? The care I take getting them properly centered makes me ask first before digging out any spare wires I have.

Oh, yeah, am I spacing or did the forum search option disappear? The search above says Main section only, not forums.

Hey Boomerweps,

How's it going?

I constantly get compliments on the way my snares sound.  In the past it wasn't unusual for people to compliment my kit as sounding good but when I switched to Puresound wires I suddenly started getting more and more compliments, not just about the drums, but about the snare sound itself.

For my rock/fusion snares I use the Puresound Blaster Series.  For my jazz kit I use the Puresound Custom Series.

Check em out!
