Who is Zoltan? Pardon my ignorance, but I haven't heard of him outside the Cafe. Is he the alter-ego of a forumite or just a feature drummer? When he did "Storming the Castle" on the recent DCTV I completely lost it. All humor aside, he really is fantastic. What's the backstory on him?

I think it might be this guy.  But I could be wrong.  Smiley

Zoltan is simply the greatest showman I have EVER seen on drums. He worked the Florida rock club circuit in the 80s and 90s, and left drummers with their jaws on the floor wherever he went. Late in the 90s, he sort of disappeared, but bootleg videos of him would float around among pro drummers, showing him playing with a band nobody could identify.

He FINALLY got his break, and is now playing with Vince Neil. You'll find some brief video clips of him on youtube. Here's his website, which also has a couple of clips:

I got to see him and hang out with him a couple of months ago at Vince Neil's new nightclub in Palm Beach, Dr. Feelgood. He's playing great as ever, and he is such an utterly nice humble guy, you wouldn't believe how mellow he is compared to his wild man stage persona.

If you have a chance, go see Zoltan in action. He'll knock your socks off!

I just found out most of the recordings I'm on were actually played by Bernard Purdie.
