hey, im kinda new to the drumming world, just got myself a starter kit which only came with a crap crash/ride and some terrible hi-hats. i have a birthday comming up soon, and was intrested in getting some new cymbals. i asked my drum teacher, and he recommended Sabian Pro Sonix, but i can't find them anywhere! just wondering if there were any similar cymbals on the market with the same sort of sound and the same sort of price. many thanks Cheesy

Search the forum for Tons of dialog on affordable cymbals.

Paiste PST5's are decent cymbals for the money.

Sabian XS20's are a little more money but good, IMO.

Many here are going to tell you: buy high end Used cymbals,
and/or, buy high end cymbals one at a time so that you don't
spend any more on lower end ones.

I would agree with that choice. I've had pro level Paiste cymbals for many years. They sound much better than the cheap low end stuff. You'll sound better plus build a better ear for your sound. I've bought high end cymbals over several years. I now have an assortment that I can pick for any band. Watch for high end used cymbals....You'll be glad you did.  Wink
