Great Quotes

"Usually, I'm concentrating on the quarter notes. That's where my focus has to be to keep the tempo locked. Whatever subdivisions I play in those spaces, I make sure they're locked in with the quarter note so that I don't rush them ... I just try to be part of the foundation."

Looks like I'll be back playing out this summer.

I inexplicably made it through an audition yesterday for a jazz/R&B/funk band - both instrumental and vocal stuff.  It's an established band with gigs on the books already.

I'm very excited, but only time will tell if I will last.  The leader has played with some top shelf players, and I Do think there's a chance I'll get bumped off when/if they find someone better.  But, until that happens, I have a path to some gigs soon, and I can't wait.

Let the games begin.   Gig 1 is 6/28, unless we can book more before that.
