Hey everyone,
I'm planning on buying a new set SOOOON!  And I'd love some input from you fellow DCer's.

I currently am playing an old Birch Pearl Export, which (I think many will agree) has GREAT sound for the price, especially if its tuned up right.  BUT, I'm heading out on the road this summer and looking to take a new kit with me.  I play fast and hard, but not your in-a-can metal, more experimental and tonal conscious than that.

I'm almost convinced that I'm going to go with a maple kit. I really like the Pearls so I was thinking about going with a sessions. I've seen a lot of used Tama SC's for a decent price lately too.  Any one have experience with ddrums or PDP's?

Looking for a 4 or 5 piece with standard sized bass drum, 13/14 and 16 or 13/14, 16, and 18 toms and I'm looking to spend around 1000-1500 on shells alone.  Any input is welcome!
Thanks!
