I Drum, therefor I Live

Was just reading through the "Mexico" thread and it reminded me. Just over a year ago I switched over to Aquarian heads from Remo (after 30 years of Remo). I have been very happy with the product. A free "kick pad' came with the Force I batter I ordered. It was a Satin finish head, hence a little "bumpy". I placed the kick pad on the head as one normally would and lo and behold - the darn thing would NOT stick to that head. Tongue

The glue on the pad was certainly sticky enough. But it would pop right off after one or two hits. I would hope to think "I" could not have messed up applying said pad  Grin.   Not a big issue, but I did find it odd that they included the pad and it would not adhere to the head. I assume it would adhere fine to a smooth gloss head.

I use the clear version of the Full Force I as well as the Kick Pad; it's on my Fibes kit. I'd had no problems with it and it is definitely my favorite Kick drumhead for this kit. So you are right ... no problems with the clear drumheads.

I would contact Aquarian and see what they have to say about it.

I seem to remember having a bit of trouble years ago with Kick Pad not wanting to stick to a coated drumhead. I don't remember what I did to resolve this, or if I even resolved it.

Contact Aquarian ... see what they say; they definitely want customer feedback and their customer support is second to none.

Certainly a novel idea.....Consider them contacted and I'll post what they have to say.

WOAH  Shocked

Bart, you were not kidding about the service. I got the below reply back within 8 minutes.

Much like when Yamaha took care of me a while ago for a tom mount, this demonstration of service will keep me an Aquarian consumer for the forseeable future.

Hello Marc,
Thanks for the email and information. Please email me with your address and
I will send our new Superthin Kick pad. I believe this might adhere better
to the head. Sorry
for any trouble with your current pad. I will send another regular pad too
as the first
might have been defective.
Sincerely,
Chris Brady

Grin  I wouldn't lie to you! hahaha

I've been using and endorsing Aquarian drumheads since 1989. Great product; great company.
