I'm embarrassed to say I am checking out Pete Levin's material for
the first time.  Embarrassed because he's internationally known, and
embarrassed because he lives in my region.

I checked out his stuff last night, fell in love, and instantly purchased
his latest CD:  Certified Organic.
Great, great stuff - really hitting the music spot for me.

Can any jazzers out there listen to a little of this, and tell me
what recommended artists/records would have similar material?:

Hey Frank,

I went to the website but the audio links were down. I like Pete Levin's material, I am curious to hear his new material in a trio setting, especially with Joe Beck. I've seen him with his brother Tony, and also with the Uncle Funk guys, but from what I read this material will be different.

I'm not sure where in the HV you live but it looks like he's playing in Rosendale tomorrow night, (6/14) and at the Turning Point in Piermont Monday night (6/16), as well as a few other dates in the tri sate area.  I may go try and check one of them out.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the post.  If those links were down, consider:
- Retrying  Smiley
- Finding them someplace else - CDBaby?
- Just buying the record  Smiley

It's great stuff.

Yeah - I know about the Rosendale show.  I'm still in negotiation with my wife
about where we will be this weekend.  We need to get a visit in to her father
for Father's Day - in PA.  If I'm home tomorrow night, I'm definitely going to
the Rosendale show.  That's the best bargain in the region.  10 bucks to see
those players.  Pete's drummer Harvey Sorgen is great.
