Hey everybody,

New to the forums, pretty much new to drumming lol I've had an electronic drum kit for a little bit just to practice and get the basics down and my brother-in-law is giving me lessons and all, sooo I'm learning!

Just a quick question though, I found this Pearl drum set on Craigslist with some extras included (Paiste cymbals, double bass pedal, etc), I was wondering if anybody could check this out and let me know if this is a good deal or not (for example is $350 for a used 4 piece Pearl + hardware, cymbals, double pedal, etc a great deal or can that $350 get me something better)

http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/msg/698552758.html

I talked to the guy, and got him to lower the price of everything to $350 and he said he'd deliver it right to my house since it's about 5 minutes away!   Grin

Any help would be hugely appreciated! I'm supposed to meet him on Saturday to check out the set so if this is a good deal I'd like to be able to purchase it Sat and start rocking!

Thanks in advance everybody!

Excellent (and I do not want to say just a starter kit) first kit for the money, especially with all the extras.  Hopefully the guy he heisted it from does'nt see you playing out with it.  From the pictures it looks to be in really nice shape, just make sure you look at everything in person before committing.  I would jump on it if this is what you want.  Once you have it I am sure you can get to sound good with the help of your brother in law or whoever you said was giving you lessons.  Not to offend anyone but I personally am not a fan of Pearl shells, love their hardware though, I have a friend who had an export kit and he had it sounding sweet, before I convinced him to go SONOR, to each his own....Good luck.....

I came to the same conclusion in another thread. The price of all this gear is probably closer to $550 to $600 resale.

Hey thanks a million guys!  These are the exact answers I was looking for (thanks Gaddabout for the response in my other thread by the way!).  I'm glad I'm getting a deal here, I was just worried I could be putting the money towards something better but you guys definitely cleared that up for me  Cool but I'm a little afraid of the stolen goods thing haha Well I think I'm gonna pick it up though and if I suspect anything fishy I'll post another thread here asking what to do when I spot people in ski masks outside my garage staring in at night lol
