This is the 6th time I've seen them and all I can say was AMAZING.  And can this band draw!  Must have been 30K people at Blossom here in Akron.  Yes they have their own jet boys!

They played all their hits.  The stage show was nothing short of intense with huge figures, fog, flames, Co2 jets shooting into the air, the antics of several versions of "Eddie", demons, and plenty of the egyptian motiff.

Nicko of course was course amazing.  He is really a unique player and an influence of mine in the past.  His kit is a custom painted something.  I have no idea what he's playing now.  Might still be a Premier.

The rest of the guys were top notch too, totally.  The power, sound and flash of this production cannot be compared to anything I've ever seen-even from them.  They play so great on such a huge scale!  Amazing, I was eaten alive.

The tickets were expensive but worth every penny.  Highly recommended!

Felix:

Thanks for the heads up.  I will have to tell my lead singer; he is a big fan of Iron Maiden.  I will check their website and see if they are heading this way.

Caught them live as well, less than two months ago. My 4th time seeing them, if I'm not mistaken.

Like Felix says, tremendous show with an all classic repertoire, great sound and light show. Definitely the best show I've seen from them, all killer no filler.

Nicko is still with Premier, not playing Signias anymore though, they have the new smaller lugs, not sure if he's playing maple or birch. IIRC he was a beech wood man in his Sonor days, maybe has custom shells, who knows.

The guy was such a groundbraking drummer in the genre, IMHO. Very creative and very subtle, resourceful and powerful all at the same time. He definitely shaped the band's sound, as he polished a lot of the rythmic structures compared to their previous drummer.

Highly recommended show!

I've seen them 7 times but not in the last ten years.  They are always awesome.
Maybe time for a show....
My husband swears I married him because he looks like Steve Harris.  I have no idea what he means Wink
