Very cool.

I listened to some of the material last night, and I Loved it.

I wish the festival was streamed on the net.

Guys; it was unreal. What an outstanding experience. 20,000 + people clapping along with the music and then a long line of people that wanted to spend time with Amanda after the show.....I'm reeling (in a good way) from it all....

Here's the first picture that's come my way - it was shot by a fan in the audience.

Hopefully, we'll be in NYC soon; we're working on that.  Wink

Thanks to you as well Ryno - good to "see" you here!

Here's a picture that I found on Flickr....I don't know who took it, but you can get a sense of the size of the crowd.

Hey Tim,

Good to see you here as well!   Smiley  Looks like a blast was had by all!

For all us gear heads out there, can you outline what you used on the gig?  (only if you feel like it and have the time, of course)

Those look like Yammies, but the badges on the toms aren't familiar to me.  18" bass drum, yes?  Are those pies your Giant Beats?

Cheers,
Ryan

Hey Ryan;

The kit was provided by the Jazz Festival; it's a Yamaha Birch set (which happily, was in the same sizes as my own Yamaha kit; 9x12, 14x14, 15x18). The snare was a 5x14 Taye (again, provided by the Festival).

The cymbals are indeed my Paiste Giant Beats; 24" , 20" and 18" along with my new favourite hats, 15" 2002 Heavy Hats (black label from 1978, with the "ROCK" ink stamp on each of them).

If they make it to NYC this summer on a weekend night, that's gotta be our
prod for the
First Annual DC NYC Summer Hang.

Who's with me?

Nice thread and good pics.

I have a 20" giant beat and I absolutely love it.  I'm a straight ahead rock player but could easily play jazz/fusion with it.

Debating on getting the 18 and 22" or 24 is it?  God if it was only a 22 I'd probably get the set.

Howz crashing the 24?  I've played one at the drumshop once, might have to do it again with the whole set.

I like the giant beat hats also.

Thanks.
