I still call it a bass drum.  I also call my drums a set - not a kit (they're already assembled!).

Oh don't get that started again!  I'm in the "bass" and "set" camp.  But it seems that a lot of younger folks don't know what I'm talking about!  So now I tend to use both sets of terms interchangeably.   Roll Eyes
