Thanks for the quick reply. I've done quite a bit of research on this one. Just wanted reassurance that I picked the right kit.

I've got a rockstar: really great kit, especially for that price. I did replace the hp200 bass pedal with iron cobra though, cos that pedal is nothing special.

I bought a Rockstar Custom kit about 18 months ago...8", 10" & 12" toms, 14"X14" FT, 18"X22" BD, 5"X13" snare. I'm adding a 16"X16" FT next week with some Christmas money.

As far a plus or minus, I'd definitely say plus. Frankly, I have to say plus...no way would my wife let me buy another kit anytime soon!

Great sound for the $$$ and I don't have the "fear" of gigging with a $5,000 DW kit.

Get rid of the "factory" heads though. I'll save you some time. I've used Evans G2 clear and G2 coated batters/Genera clear resonants and I've used Remo coated Ambassadors batters/clear Ambassadors on resonant side (currently on the kit). I liked the sound of the Remos better (warmer to my ears), but their durability stinks!

From all the Aquarian talk here at the Cafe, I picked up a 14" Texture Coated (batter) and a Classic Clear (resonant) for my floor tom this weekend, just to try Aquarian out. One word...

 WOW!!!

That's what that floor tom is supposed to sound like! The Aquarian heads are amazing. Great quality, easy to tune, unbelievable sound! You may want to go with a different setup depending upon the style of music you play, but you should check out Aquarian heads...you won't be disappointed!

to Carn- Well, I was incomplete: I wanted a double pedal, and instead of buying a hp200 double pedal 'extension', I got me an Iron cobra, wich is a whole lot better: I've played them both.
