Dream Theater - Fatal Tragedy ... woo shrink and grow, it's so fun. I love playing lots of Metallica too, Battery and some of the quicker ones are great. Toxicity by SOAD is a fun one too.

I don't know off hand of which particular songs to recommend, but I would in general recommend The Meters AND The Neville Brothers if you're into that sort of groove (at least one of the Neville's was in The Meters). I'd pick up just about anything by the Meters. I can tell you that The Neville Brothers have a gread CD "Live at Tipitina's 1982" that is seriously good. Those guys got a "groove". |

Dream Theater, Weckl(really hard..) and Tower of Power songs. They´re all great. Its kinda fun playing along with the Dance of Eternity(DT). I wrote the whole song down.. haha.. thats crazy.

John Scofield has done a BUNCH of great stuff over the years. Two CD's that come to mind are "Still Warm" with Omar Hakim on drums (really sweeeeet, what a touch), and "A Go Go" with Medeski, Martin, and Wood.

Gee, it doesn't look like I ever added "Spider Fingers" and "The Tango King" from Bruce Hornsby's "Hot House" CD. Spider Fingers just has really crisp playing with some good sections of double-bass fun and "The Tango King" is possibly the most natural feeling song in 9/8 that I've ever played.

IMHO, he's the best musician to ever play the drums, and Aja is one of my fav. tunes to play as well as Home At Last. I've never heard Dennis Chambers play other than a 350bpm bebop tune I heard on the radio about a year ago that Dennis ground into dust. I'll have to check out "Pick Hits Live." Ratamatatt |

I bet Dennis would agree with you. He's a humble guy. Anyhow, they are just different. It's like comparing Superman to Batman. They are both super heros. It just comes down to if you like x-ray vision or bat-a-rangs.  I like both. You might too after you check him out. |

Being a big Beauford fan, I'm always wanting to play DMB tunes, but since the band I'm in is more Brit-poprock that doesn't happen very often... what we have played that I enjoy is:
You - Radiohead off "Pablo Honey"
Trickster - Radiohead off "My Iron Lung" <-- very cool drumming. Simple, but fun.
Currently working on a remake of "In my life" by the Beatles.
