Have you considered the possibility that you've been had? That it was intentional? Can a band really be that dumb? How is it possible for a bar band to f@#k up "You Shook Me" by AC/DC?

Well one can assume ANYTHING, and that MAY be the case. HOWEVER, I'm the big dumby here because I didn't know what key to tell these fellows. So I'll accept the blame for the fiasco as I truely believe that's where it lies!

It wasn't me guys, that was Mr Einstein who said that but it has a lot of truth in it.

Well put Jeep, & Louis... I have always liked the comments that louderdb and most of you have made. I know we all make mistakes but hey just throw em behind ya and move on. I don't think anyone in the place has givin it a second thought since the night you did it... other than the fact that they wish they had the balls to get up there and do it themselves. so be of comfort there louder.. I'm sure it wasn't anywhere near as bad as you remember it to be... JMHO...

I want to get one thing straight.I wasn't saying you're a lame drummer or a bad singer it's just those two things are easy for joe blow to notice if there even slightly off.I think when you jam with guys you should just pick either drums or vocals still because there's just too many things that can go wrong.maybe you can't hear yourself in the monitor, maybe the beater comes out of the pedal, maybe you drop a stick.think about the soundman too.he has to adjust to your volume on the drums and your vocals.even if you nail it on stage it's gonna take the soundman at least a verse to dial in sound for you.when you play with your band everything's set for you so blow them away.good luck next time.

Why would playing and singing for a drummer be any different than say,... a guitarist, bass player or keyboard player. If each can do both, and is offered the opportunity to do so, you're suggesting they sound just do one thing. I don't get it. In my case in particularly, I feel a lot more comfortable singing from behind the kit than standing at the front of the stage. I'm kinda stiff out front. But if I have the kit to keep my hands and feet busy, it just seems to feel a little more natural. And hey bro, I hope I didn't say anything to tick you off as that was never my intention! So if I did, I do humbly apologize! It's an old post anyway! I'm amazed at how it seems to "never die"! lol I think we can all move on to something more pressing and educational. (Just a suggestion) Wink Hope we're still on good terms bro! Rock on!

Well, Don't you think they look suspiciosly alike?  Come to think of it, I've never seen Einstein and Twain together at the same time.   Shocked

Seems to me that if these dudes responded to the "what key" question with "just like the record", they could only play it in that key anyway.  However; YOU should be aware of what key(s) you can do a tune in.
If there is no common ground between you and the band, pick another song.
