I usually play barefoot, somtimes with socks.  I like to feel the pedals.

I'm not a particularly slow player, yet I don't play fast.  I play half-fast.

I have a pair of Reeboks (they're designed like soccer shoes but with no cleats) that are probably about 5 years old now (still in pretty good shape because I normally only use them when I'm playing).  They're exactly what you are describing.  I was going to be looking for another pair shortly.  Good support, not a lot of weight, fits the foot well.

New Balance's walkers in black. They give a great feel on the BD and I don't feel like I'm wearing army boots.

I wear Nike's Air Max, and I really suggest that you try them. They have a built in sock type thing that makes the shoe super snug, and they just feel great to play in. They're the shoes I get every year for track, that's the main reason I buy them though.

Puma Romas.  Also similar to you description.  Thin sole, comfortable, no blisters on yout toes.  I used to like to play barefoot but I always got blisters.

I play in a black pair of REEBOKS. nice and comfortable. Back in my death metal days i was playing in combat boots. it took awhile to get used to, but now, i can play in just about anything. although, i have a hard time playing barefoot. it just doesn't feel right.
