Great Quotes

"Usually, I'm concentrating on the quarter notes. That's where my focus has to be to keep the tempo locked. Whatever subdivisions I play in those spaces, I make sure they're locked in with the quarter note so that I don't rush them ... I just try to be part of the foundation."

Shure KSM series seem to be the in vogue overheads these days.

James, I just finished an initial mix of this session, and I think I was a bit unfair to the Marshalls initially. They're actually quite a bit better than the C1000s. Sometimes you need to listen a few times before the objectivity kicks in. Smiley

Well if munny is no object use what I use for overheads...Neumann TLM193's.  They are about 675 a piece if you buy a pair.  They just smooth cymbals out like no tomorrow.  I had a guy with a Zildjian Z and 2 gnarly A's come in last weekend.  I turned those trash can lids into nice silky crashes.  You will never have to buy overheads again.
