DW Flatbase 6000 series Hihat Stand???
«

Hey all,
to compliment my flatbase ludwig stands, I got my hands on a slightly used cheapie DW flatbase hihat stand.
it looks really cool with the rest of my set, and its suuuper light and unobtrusive to boot.
only problem is it feels a little bit shaky compared to my Tama HH15R swingstar hihat stand. e.g. sometimes when I'm getting to a song, and press hard, it feels like momentum will make it tilt forward on me.
I know there's a shaft beneath the footpad I can lengthen/shorten, I've toyed with the block to supports that shaft, and I've noticed on very the bottom of the stand, there's a screw-on lug nut that tightens something on the bottom of the stand. what's this for?
any insights from fellow users?
