I love the Drummer Cafe!

Ok, I am mostly a guitar player here at local church and I always wanted to do rithm stuff so I got a conga drum (LP Aspire) then another now I can't put them down.  (My wife wants to throw them out Shocked)

I got two books by Alan Dworski - "Conga Drumming" And "Hip Grooves for hand drums". I found them both great. The first one is more in depth on Latin rithms and second one is more relevant (though not as varied) for regular Pop/Rock/other styles.

So, not being a drummer I don't know alot of groves/patterns I could try to adapt for congas (or hopefully soon cajon)

There are a lot (understandably) Afro/Latin books, but they are not as relevant for the gigs I am playing. (though I realy enjoy playing bembe 6 aganst 4  Grin)

Any book recomendations?

Thanks

An online book, and the bible for our conga study group.

Hollow a log into a drum.
It's the space inside that makes the sound.
