Share songs that really spring out possitive and joyful emotions in you. I'm sure we can all name TONS of songs that fall under this subject, but lets try and narrow it down to a few (1-5 maybe a little more if you have to) so we can actually go through and check them out without taking up all our afternoon. I thought i'd share this clip of Victor Wooten and Carter Beauford that i found on www.drummerworld.com . Even though I'm not a big listener of Beauford, i was just intrigued by this little video clip. The song is basically just a jam session with two great musicians. Minus the pre-recorded bass chorus, it's just the two of them laying it down. The song is absolutely gorgeous, and it just makes you feel good. I think you guys know what I mean. You run across songs that just make you feel good. But to me, this kind of stuff is the essence of why I love music; just pure heart and soul. I'm sad to say I can't share religious aspects of these feelings, but just know they're there for me. Check it out: http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/Carterbeauford.htmlP.S. you can get the full tune on Kazaa or other mp3 programs.

Songs that make me feel good: Atlanta Rhythm Section's version of "Spooky," especially the lead guitar part. Allman Bros' "One Way Out," again the lead guitar part is awesome IMHO. Third Day's "Thief" Too many songs from Steely Dan to list. No doubt there are many, many songs that make me feel good. Tom

A lot of songs by the late Chuck Shuldiner (of the band Death) mean a lot to me, emotionally. A lot of them deal with emotional introspection, coping with loss, finding your true self, and dealing with the idiosyncracies of the world. Listed below are probably the ones that mean the most to me:
The Philosopher Symbolic Empty Words To Forgive is to Suffer

The techniques, though they play an important role in the early stage, should not be too restrictive, complex or mechanical. If we cling to them, we will become bound by their limitation. Any technique, however worthy and desirable, becomes a disease when the mind is obsessed with it.

RADAR LOVE!!!!!! What a great tune that is. The drum break in the middle section sounds so original and fresh, even today.

Elton John's Tiny Dancer makes me feel pretty cozy...
Almost all music I listen to makes me feel good, in one way or another. I like feeling happy, nostalgic, sad, angry, etc, thanks to a song.

Incubus! Their music is so unique and I can always feel the emotion that they put into their CD's. 'Moby Dick', because it's nice to hear a solo that isn't all about technique (I'm not saying that JB doesn't have great technique. It's just that his solo sounds like he's singing through his drums). A lot of christian music makes me feel good (I guess for different reasons than just the musicianship). 'Well you wouldn't need' by Thelonious Monk is also a great booster song.

I dunno if this counts as a song but Electric Wheelchair by SCV ... I always have to listen to some DCI when I'm down or when I need to hyped about a gig. Hope that doesn't make me seem too nerdy.
