Hi

I am a fairly new drummer. Let me explain my environment: I already own acoustic and Yamaha DTxpress II drum kit. I love playing both.  I have worked with PC's for 15 years now..so they dont scare me off. I also own cakewalk, and a few other MIDI programs. And I have a Roland keyboard (JV90). I want to hook them all togther using MIDI.

I would like to get into more advanced applications of using my edrums, sound modules, MIDI, and computers,etc...but I dont know where to begin exactly.

I have a few questions to get started:

(1) Can someone explain the brief differences between devices like
these, and how I might use them
a. sound modules
b. drum modules
c. external sequencers

(2) I would like to setup my edrums, so that when I hit/trigger a specific pad, that it sends a MIDI signal to another MIDI device hooked up to it to play a different note.

I am pretty sure this can be done, and I think it would be fun, because it will allow me to play a lot more notes, and sounds, than just in drum kit alone... BUT THE QUESTION IS HOW!?Huh

Any advice to enlighten me on this journey would be helpful

Thanks
