There was a post (in May?) about non-drumming books. One of the ones recommended was Zen Guitar. I'd like to thank whoever recommended it. It was a great read and very helpful.
From there, I've gone on to read a book by D.T. Sazuki, but that's more of a historical account. (I'm not really interested in how Zen can help me chop someone's head off.)
Can anyone suggest other books about how Zen applies to art/craft/music?
How about other "non-drumming" books?

youre welcome.
books applying zen philosophy to art? cant really think of any that specific, but one of the big concepts behind zen is its ability to applied to all things in life. so any book on zen should be applicable. I also reccommend the tao te ching. technically not zen, but some shared views.
since we seem to have lost the thread (I searched, and didnt find it) ill post my other non-drumming music book recommendations:
Improvisation - by Derek Bailey
No Sound is Innocent - by Eddie Prevost
Effortless Mastery - by Kenny Werner

Zen Mind Beginner's Mind
by Shunryu Suzuki.
and
Shambala the Path of the Warrior
by Chogyam Trungpa.
The second one is not really Zen, but a logical easy to read Dharma book.

Hollow a log into a drum.
It's the space inside that makes the sound.
