All, I have a 16" AA thin crash and I was wondering when they stopped making that model with the high ridges on the bell and flat area of the cymbal. They are much smoother now, and don't seem to have the protective coating on them that mine has. Mine looks more like an A Zildjian, the new ones look more like A Customs. Does this make any sense?    Huh

Me either. I don't know what you are talking about in that respect.

Might be a good thing to ask Sabian directly though.

 Cry

Sorry, I'm still not great with a lot of drum terms. I guess I was asking about the lathing grooves on the AA that I have - they create high ridges, and it has a non-brilliant finish. Looking at ones in the latest catalog - the AA's appear to have a brilliant finish and shallower grooves. I just wanted to figure out how old my "new" cymbal was and if the line AA line had been revamped. Oh well......
