What head should I put on my floor tom if i want it to be my base drum. What kind of adjustments or change should I do to accomplish this?

You will be restricted to tom heads unless you change out the hoop.  As far as tuning goes, tune it as you would any bass drum.  What heads do you use on your bass drum now?  You  should be able to find a tom head that is approximaely the same.

Pearl makes a Jungle Kit converter. Makes your 16" FT a 16" bassdrum.  You can use the same heads, but may want to consider a way of dampening them a bit (if you so desire).

I just converted an 18" Pearl BRX birch 4-ply w/rings floor tom to kick with an Aquarian super kick 1 on the batter (with a mini Falam slam pad) and a Pearl logo resonant with no mic hole.  Sounds bad-ass.

I had an Aquarian Perfomance II on my 16" floor tom when I used it as a bass.  Same mylar setup as a Superkick II, just doesnt have the felt strip.
