And it could be yours for a measly 2900

The biggest-sounding kit in history! Only from Musician's Friend.

The ultimate drum set. That's what John Bonham thought, and so did the millions of people spellbound by his astoundingly powerful performance in 'The Song Remains the Same." This is the exact kit, painstakingly reproduced right down to the gold sparkle bass drum hoops. This limited reissue kit features classic spurs, legs, and brackets; large classic lugs; T-rods and claws on the bass; gold sparkle inlays; and blue and olive badges.

Features:

MF Exclusive limited reissue kit
Same kit Bonham played in 'The Song Remains the Same"
Gold sparkle bass drum hoops
Classic spurs, legs, and brackets
Large classic lugs
T-Rods and Claws on the bass
Gold sparkle inlays
Blue & olive badges
14" x 26" bass
10" x 14" tom
16" x 16" and 16" x 18" floor toms
LM402 6-1/2" x 14" chromeplated Supra-Phonic snare

Neato!

Not to be too anal retentive... but (more often than not) his ride and tom-tom were mounted on the bass drum, not on stands.

That would be a cool kit to have. Thanks for posting it catman.  Wink

That is an absolutely awesome set. One of my top 3 dream kits for sure.

I mean, I'd get some Silver Dots on them and just groove man, slam them hard.

I would eternally debate on wheter I should use a double pedal on it though  Huh

I thought they'd sell them for more. Put they ain't a gift either  Wink

When I was in high school, I had the black and white zebra striped VistaLites Bonzo used on ocassion.  I mean, not the actual set he used, but ...well, you get the picture.  Anyway, like all youth, impetuous and stupid, I sold it.  I still kick myself everyday at least once for that Embarrassed

The techniques, though they play an important role in the early stage, should not be too restrictive, complex or mechanical. If we cling to them, we will become bound by their limitation.  Any technique, however worthy and desirable, becomes a disease when the mind is obsessed with it.

BLASPHEMER!!!

That BD shall only be played with a Speed King pedal!

So let it be written, so let it be done.

At the risk of being sneered, jeered and smeared on this board:

1) the color is ugly,

2) there's a reason they don't make many vistalite kits any more...they sound like POOP!!

3) how expensive can vistalite be to produce...at $2900 I'd say this kit seems way over priced.

OK...let the sneering, jeering and smearing begin!  Kiss

LOL

yeah, they pretty much suck I've heard.  I've never owned one.  I know one guy that swears by vistalite snares.

I'd probably go with a Zickos or Fibes if I wanted acrylic shells.

my old mat/pro teacher made a few acrylic drums.  other than that he was a complete loser... except he yelled at that one guy...

i might someday get bored enough to try some of my own.

Unfortunately I agree with JonE but I would have to be one too (blasphemer) and use that double kick, cause my feet def are not quick as his. I would buy this kit if I really had tons of extra money lying around, which I dont. Im with everyone that thinks they probably sound like crap just on their own with no kind of added effects and no JB playing them  Wink

A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. "Hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite, baby."

I saw a blue-and-clear candy-striped version at *ahem* the centralized location for guitars a few months ago.  It was being reheaded; the guy didn't know what heads to use or how to put them on, so *snicker* he --HAW-Haw-Haw-- asked the sales clerks at the store to do this!

I took a look at the heads.  They put an Evans Genera Dry on. the. snare.  Coated G2's on the toms.  I admired the finish of the shells, double-checked the sticks I bought for warpage upon seeing this, and got the hell out of there.
