Without music id be lost.....

« on: July 30, 2003, 06:21 AM »

I just got my Iron Cobra Hi-hat in the mail and set up.  It seems to work real goodon flat surffaces (prelim test) but my practice space has plush carpet and the stand just wobbles everywhere on the carpet?..

Am I doing something wrong or is this just a charectoristic of this hi-hat?  I still have yet to really give it a good practice with a solid floor, I hope that it is much much less wobbley (is that a word) at a show.

Thanks

Yeah I need to play with it alittle more.  This is the same one your talking about.  I have yet to give the stabalizer a real treatment yet.  The pedal is smooth as silk though and I can't wait to get this puppy on stage..

Thanks.

I have been trying to set it up straight, but I might try to give it a slight tilt and see if that helps any

Definitely get into the nuts and bolts on that thing.  Its got TONS of adjustability.   One of the things I do when setting it up is to hold the pedal down all the way (no hats on it) and then set the legs.  That helps make sure its all as flat and stable as it can be.

I just bought one of those the other day and yeah your right about the wobble on carpet. I did notice the stabilizer on the bottom and I haven't had any major problems with it wobbling.

But overall yeah it's definitely a nice piece of equipment. Nice and durable.
