60's Whitehall.  I selected Pearl because thats who made 'em.  20, 16, 12 ... variety of snares.  And on occasion a Star (pre-Tama Tama) cocktail kit with a 16" kick and 10" snare.

My sites got pics.

Other.

Or, more accurately, Most.  Wink

Let's see: Gretsch, Pearl, Ludwig, Slingerland, Camco, George Way, and Yamaha, with custom drums from Resurrection and Phattie, and hardware from all of the above, plus Tama and Sonor.

I guess I'm an Equal Opportunity Drummer!

I'd love to have more drum kits, but spent all my money on my darn pedal. I hate it when that happens!!!

Just wondering what todays drummers feel are the best sound and quality investments

If I was buying new drums, I'd go for Fibes, or Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute.

I play mostly my Sonors (Designers) and Tamas (Starclassics), but I also have a complete Yamaha kit and nine various additional snare drums.

Then there is all the electronic stuff, the two main kits there being a customized Hart Pro based kit and a customized Roland V-Session based kit.  I have tons of other electronic stuff I have collected from researching, testing and tinkering too.  And currently I have picked up a new Sonor kit (no not Designers) to covert fully to electronic use but retaining the look of a full sized acoustic kit.  Here's a pic of the newest Sonor that I will be making into electronics with the look I want:

Can't believe I'm the only one so far who lists Gretsch.  I have two sets of them.

I don't know if they're a great investment or what modern guys want, but they work for me.  Also have a lovely set of Yamaha Maple Customs, but Gretsch owns my heart.

Just bought a set of Ludwig drums about a month ago. Tom sizes are 10/12/15 and the bass drum is an 18". The drum collector I bought them off of actually hand made the 15" tom but it's an exact replica of the others (and it sounds great too!). He also threw in an acrolite snare which is doing great for me. Hippie out.

I have a nice set of Tama Superstars.  Sold my Ludwigs in 1979 and never went back.

I have a set of custom made maples from a guy in indianapolis named Craig Hammon- I love them! The name of his fledgling company is CMH Drums.
I also have a set of Yamaha Custom Recording drums too.

All Paiste Signature Cymbals and one Wuhan

Yamaha Recording Custom. I don't know if birch is just less fashionable than maple these days but RCs seem to be pretty good value just now for anyone looking to pick up a second hand kit.

I'm also having a 'labour of love' with an old Hayman kit I picked up recently. I'm spending most of my spare time scouring for parts and debating which wrap to re cover them in so haven't really played them much other than the test drive when I bought them Sad

Mapex V Series (what can I say?  First set, and served me well so far..)  made much more useful with Evans G2 heads and an array of Paiste/Zildjian cymbals.

Looking to get something new sometime soon.  Gotta get down to RezDrums to see what they have to tempt me.  Grin
