can anybody provide advice on the tallest high hat stand available, if you could list the model number and how many inches/cms from the floor to the top of the pull rod, that would be great.

I have a generic stand that is approx 42 inches from the floor to the top of the rod, but I need something taller.

Get a remote hat and clamp it high on a telescoping boom as high as you want where you want.  That is the highest you can get.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need such a tall HH?

Is Manute Bol sitting in on you kit?

You can probably extend your own hihat, by buying a metal pipe that's the same diameter as the top tube in your hihat stand, and by using a length of threaded rod to extend the internal rod, with a coupling bolt similar to the one that currently joins the top and bottom sections of the internal rod.

If the top tube of your hihat has a removable plastic holder for the bottom cymbal, pull it off and put it on the new longer pipe. If not, maybe another drum company makes a tilter/top that will slip over the pipe. Most of the top tubes of hihats are the same diameter.

I did this on a couple hihats a long time ago, and it worked great.

thanks man, i did what you suggested; now my hi-hat stand can be set at 60 inches max from floor to end of pull rod. Grin

Yeah, but why you need it so high, Brudduh?

Still curious.

Still curious.

Instead of using a conventional drum throne, I use an a specially made office chair with a back rest and lumbar adjustment.

What this means is I can't set the chair at a low setting, so everything else has to be set several inches higher than a usual set.  It was a real problem with the snare and high hat, I managed to set the snare at a perfect height, but then the hi-hats were too low.  Now I can adjust them from 32-60 inches.

I'm picturing this office chair (beacause I'm sitting in one right now) at a moderatley HIGH height.  Is the seat portion going to hinder your leg movements and/or circulation??

Seems like it it would to me.

Not really, the seat part where you sit your butt is shorter than normal, so there is room to move the feet.  It is hard to explain without a photo, but it is way more comfortable and less stressing on the body than a round cusion on a tripod.

I am only 6 1 which isn't excessively tall.
