well, im very fond of the tama iron cobras, but the DWs are great as well, also the pearl eliminator....all quality products, just try some and pick the one that feels best, and resembles your old single pedal in a way (that is if you like your single pedal)

The newer dw's are ok, but like all dw stuff I think it's borderline value wise.  I've worn out a pair of dw pedals when they first came out with the hinges (after Camco)...the dbl pedal I have now is an accelerator...it's alright.  I had to loc tite the screws holding the floor board to the pedal asm. to keep the darn things from coming out.

I've actually even wore out an axis pedal.  It was very quiet and smooth in the beginning but gradually got louder with age, then it developed a "clicking" sound that drove me nuts.

I like yamaha foot pedals.  To me they are very fast and predictable for the money.  They don't have the lateral stability of a dw or the velocity, but their stroke is even and smooth.  I like them.  I think you will find that everyone is going to have an opinion on this, but to me, the best value for the money are the yamadogs.  I don't care for pearl hdw, or gibralter.  I also don't like Iron Cobras...they seem to always feel like a "heel up" pedal to me...but that's me.

Why don't you get one of those sonor giant step pedals and be different than everybody else?  You won't have to compromise your setup and you won't learn all the licks everyone else is playing...your stuff will always sound a little different.

 Can you imagine just for fun those things on two kick drums?

I'm a Iron Cobra fan myself.  I have the double kick pedal and the Hi-Hat stand as well.  In my opinion, the smoothest motion on the market.  Kinda pricy, but worth it.

Well Side, I knew what to write....and then noticed Felix pretty much beat me to it.   Anyway, I too had an Axis double....I didn't have a chance to wear mine out though -I hated it too much to ever spend time growing into it.   It was just WRONG....can't remember more than hating it for some forgotten reason and then selling it.  

I've always played Yamaha's....I have three singles and a double.  I've worn the paint off all of them and have never once been left with a broken spring or chain.  Not even once in many years.  That's worth something.  I use them first and foremost because I like the feel....just very natural.   I suppose it has a lot to do with what your feet get used to though.  

No ... because you keep bringing it up and you got there by posting one liners! But, you get to keep the stars ... that's about it. LOL  

hey, man. I personally prefer to use 2 bass drums. I used to use the tama iron cobra double pedal, which is a great pedal, but now that I switched to two independant bass' I like it a lot better.
