I never got to see my grandma because of cigarettes.
But that's not the only thing...my grandad never smoked a single fag in his life, but he died way too early  because of inhaling my grandmas smoke (Cancer), I cannot remember him. On that note, how is your wife doing with trying not to smoke? Gee I have tons of respect for you not smoking mate, but you should do your utmost to ensure your wife quits as well (that's if she hasn't already) The harsh truth is that it will kill you both...regardless of your cravings.

Thank you Jack for putting your stamp on my thread.

You obviously aren't married to an american woman!  Cause if you were, you would know they are extremely independent.

Nancy smokes like a chimney still.  I love her, but I don't tell her what to do.  As long as she doesn't stink up the joint before I'm trying to get some sleep (I will pregnant dog(bitch) then) ; she can smoke her head off.  I let her do her thing.  I go to bed later than her usually anyways.

She really has had her trials in life and has to do what she has to to get thru it/keeping her head together.  I respect that.  We smoked when we were dating and when we first got married.  No sense for me to become "holier then thou".  That is not how I operate.

Peace,
f.

Yeah, that's fair enough. I just think you should make attempts to at least get her to smoke outside or something, because you are effectively smoking too! And that's what this whole thread has been about!

I'm really glad you are doing so well! I'm heavily addicted to sweets (i mean heavily, chocolate I am fine with, cakes and everything is fine, just sweets) I tried to stop eating them recently but at the same time I got very ill. I couldn't take the strain and I ate some sweets. But you have inspired me to stop eating them again. I know I kinda sound a bit odd but still....I don't want to lose my teeth at 25 or something! I have to have this vile mouthwash stuff to make my teeth stronger....ITS RANCID!

Yea, I just found this thread and read it all and it seems that it just stopped.  I quit 9 years ago after smoking probably 20 years and it was the best thing I ever did.  My wife said that it turned me into a jerk.  It gets a little better each year. Nah, just that first 6 months was tough.  After that, they smelled so bad to me that I couldn't hardly stand other people smoking. I hope you are still doing well Felix? Grin.

I'm still off of them.  Cheated once a couple of weeks ago, but that's it.

Good for you man.  Be careful with that cheating.  It is easy in the first 6 months or so to slip back into it.  I will occasionally puff a cigar like on a fishing trip but I can count them over the last two or three years on less than one hand. No inhailing!!

I said that I didn't inhale cigars. I have never had to deny inhaling
anything else. That was another life too, but atleast I didn't lie about it.
You got me Louis Wink.

Not so great.  I fell off the wagon a week ago.  Today I have not smoked yet and am out, not really jonesing too bad either.  Going on a mexican cruise next week so the fresh air and sun will do me good.  I'll try to work out some.

Hey, there are worse things I could have problems with.

My friend's wife- two kids, plenty of money- beautiful house:  she's hooked on cocaine.  Ya think I got problems.
