Well, I quit again.  So, if I'm a prick...get over it.  I'll be ok in a couple of months.

Made it the first day...told the wife if she keeps smoking in the house we are going to have problems.  She loved that.  Can hardly wait till the next gig, not.

Congratulations Wesley ........ keep up the good work.

It's hard now ... but the rewards will be well worth the turmoil. I know you already know this, or you wouldn't have stopped to begin with. Just wanted to encourage you!

My mom quit after ~ 25 years of smoking, and she's still clean after 4 years. It can be done! The first week or two was the worst.

Yeah, I'm feeling good, I've quit several times before-  I'm just sick of them so it is pretty easy.

Thanks

That's cool Felix.   I was an on-again/ off-again smoker for a while.   Still grab one at a gig here and there.   The biggest thing I hate about cigarettes was giving my money to those bastard companies who produce them and try to lie about the effects.  Oh yeah -the death part would really suck large, too.

Day 3...I feel good...bought myself a mastering plug-in that I've been wanting.  I have tons of energy...I feel about 10 years younger.

I'm on a similar quest: I've lost almost 20 pounds over the last several months. One day at a time is what it takes.

Good luck on your quest to be smoke free Grin.  I'm wondering which mastering plug in did you buy?

Felix, did you do anything ceremonious to mark the occasion. I say this as an old school friend of mine gave up the "cancer sticks" and the "booooooze" on the same day. He went camping buy himself, just him, the outdoors, a tent and his dangerous vices and burnt them in the fire.....

Did you do anything to mark the day ?

To me, every day that goes by that he doesn't "lite up"  marks the day.

Day 4...I didn't sleep well again...hopefully in a week or two I'll be back to normal.

I feel great...@$%# wife still can't give them up, at least she lights up on the lanai.

I got Izotopes Ozone.  It's a really hot mastering plug for 200 beans...my buddy in la la land got me hip to it when I was out there a few weeks ago.  I run it in Wavelab.  Multi band compressor, multi band exiciter, multi band eq, loudness maximizer and mastering verb.
Very easy to use and sounds great...I highly recommend it!  But it can over sizzle your mixes, so I'm getting used to it...I'll post a few mixes here in a month or so. http://www.izotope.com/audio.html

the first week is really tough . . . it gets much easier after that.

I was the heaviest smoker at my workplace. The week I chose to quit (smoking) was the same week I had to train someone to do my job.

I'm suprised he lived to tell about it.

I dont miss smokes anymore . . especially when I see other people smoke.

That is strange ... as most people GAIN weight when they quit smoking ... hence another reason why people don't like to quit.

I understood that Nicotean acted as an apetite suppressor so that means when people give up, their natural desires for food comes on line again and because they are not used to the feeling of "BEING VERY HUNGRY" they tend to overeat....

How are you copeing with your wife smoking ?

Thanks for asking CSW.

I'm alright with it for now...she's back to smoking in the house.  It sucks she smokes cause they are lying around the house all the time...I got done with a long piano session last night and really wanted to light up but resisted the urge.  I just keep myself busy and don't hang around much (I like that, and if she complains about me being gone so much I'll let her have it!)

I think that's wise man; both parts. She really needs to quit ... even more so now that you have.

Even if she can't quit right now ... she REALLY needs to stop smoking in the house. Not only is that not helping you, but it's stinking up the joint. As you get further down the road ... smoke is going to make you sick. You'll smell it in everything; your clothes, your furniture, your wife's skin, etc. She should at least start stepping outside to smoke; like she would have to do if she were at a friend's house that didn't smoke.

I would encourage you to lovingly approach her about doing that for you (and her).

The when winter rolls around, she'll be so pissed for having to freeze her butt off to get a smoke (while outside) that she'll probably want to quit.
