Definitely worth less than 50% off retail ... because they are used ... and you can buy cymbals brand new, all day long, for 50% Off Retail.

As a former drum shop owner, I can tell you that you could expect to get 70% off retail ... and no more. So if the cymbal now retails for $300 ... you would be doing good to get $90 for it ... especially since anyone could buy the same cymbal brand new for $150.00.

70% OFF retail for used cymbals is a basic industry standard.

All of this is assuming the cymbal is NOT a collectible and is currently available on the market. In rare cases you may get 60% off retail, but that would mean the cymbal is basically brand new with no evidence of wear (stick marks, etc.).

Who knows, you may find someone who doesn't know better (like on eBay) who may give you 50% off retail ... but I sure wouldn't.

So I would DEFINITELY NOT pay more than 70% off retail for his cymbals. Even less if he'll go for it ... obviously.

you can get my 502`s, they make great serving plates with some extensive hammering! probably will sound better as well, lol
