I'm just curious to know if anyone plays heel up on one foot and heel down of the other when playing double pedals.

I'm still rather new to playing with DPs and find I'm better with my left foot playing heel down.  I've always played heel up on my right foot.  I'm sure some of you will say play whichever works right for you, but I still wonder if there are advantages if both feet are positioned either heel up or heel down.  Thoughts?

heel up gives you more power and smacks the beater into the head and keeps it there.Heel down give you more tone and the beater off the head. Now there is really no absolute right or wrong way to play heel up or down.So if you have one heel up and one down, big deal.If you really hate this then play right heel down or make your left heel go up.No big deal.Do what feels the best for you in the end.

I play heel up and down ... one foot and both feet.
It all depends on what it is I'm trying to do, and where that left foot is having to move to ... such as going to the HiHat Pedal, Kick Pedal, Gajate Pedal or Trigger Pedal.

Some people have better balance having heel down in one foot, while heel up in the other. My experience has been that this "comfort" comes from the drum throne not being at the best height. You feel like you are going to fall off the stool.
