I wouldn't spend more than $75 on that item; less if possible. You can buy them brand new for not much more than that.

I think it's a fine way to begin learning to play mallets. If you don't need the practice pad, etc., you might be able to find just the bell kit.

From the looks of the practice pad, the former owner didn't play much or the kit is not very old. Seems like a decent deal. I've sold kits like this one for $125-150 ... used ... in the past.

I also desire a bell kit.In all honesty I would love to get a full size xylophone and a midi pad ( like Neil Peart has ) and just go crazy composing things.But since I can't afford a xylophone or pad I would really like to invest in a bell kit.A more upper class one that is.
