i just got them and they're absolutely lovely.  i got LP Calientes; a 10" quinto, a 11" segundo, and a 12" tumba.

i like the sound.  it's far different from my djembe, but still works with it quite well.

i called Sam Ash last night and had them hold the drums for.  i went this evening to pick them up and found a MONSTROUS hole in the side of one of the drums.  the guy said his boss had told him to switch it out before i took them home though.

the guy that rang me up had some major attitude, which annoys me a little, considering i just dropped $400 at his store.

but i love them!

I assume that you got the one with "monstrous" hole switched?

Congrats and welcome to the world of the conga!
Now you get to enjoy the full depth and beauty of Afro-Latin rhythms.

Hollow a log into a drum.
It's the space inside that makes the sound.
