Saturday night, I saw a show here in Chicago that featured bands from the Bloodshot label. "Insurgent country." Anyway, this drummer, Kevin O'Donnell, sat in with two of the bands and completely blew me away with his brushwork.

I'm playing a gig now where I do play a lot of brushes and I feel like my mastery of that idiom is severly limited. While I try to track down the aforementioned drummer for a few lessons, can anyone recommend a method bood or video that address brushes, specifically in contexts other than light jazz - folk-rock, blues, hot jazz?

(For some great recordings of O'Donnell's playing, check out his playing with Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire.)
